But families change. Kids begin their college educations or adult careers, new additions are welcomed, and in-laws in their golden years join the household. For most new pool owners, families are growing. Will a vinyl liner pool still be right for your growing family a few years down the road?

Choosing the perfect pool for your family is an important decision. At Goodall Pools & Spas, we’ve seen the joy a pool can bring to families, and we believe a vinyl liner pool might just be the perfect match for your expanding clan. Let us share what we’ve learned about how a vinyl liner pool can fit your family for decades to come.

Vinyl Liner Pool Versatility and Variety

One of the standout features of a vinyl liner pool is its versatility. Whether your family loves splashy pool games, relaxing swims, or imaginative underwater adventures, these pools can accommodate it all.

With a wide range of shapes and sizes, from classic rectangles to freeform designs, there’s a vinyl liner pool to fit every family’s style and backyard space. Vinyl liner pools offer a range of colors and patterns, as well. The liner’s vibrant hues and patterns, from classic blue to jade and earthy tan, add a personal touch to your pool, making it a true extension of your home’s personality.

Is a Vinyl Liner Pool Right for My Growing Family?

Swimming Pool Customization at Its Best

Imagine a pool with a tanning ledge for sun-soaked afternoons, a custom staircase for easy access, or bubbling water features for a touch of elegance. With a vinyl liner pool, these dreams can become a reality.

The flexible nature of the liner allows for unique structural elements that cater to your family’s needs and desires. The vinyl customization options are endless, whether it’s a shallow area for the little ones or a cascading waterfall for the perfect backyard ambiance.

Quick Setup for Endless Fun

We know families are busy, and waiting for a pool to be built can feel like an eternity for eager swimmers. The good news? Vinyl liner pools boast a shorter construction timeline than other types.

Once your pool build begins, your backyard can transform into a water-filled wonderland, ready for cannonballs and pool parties in a matter of weeks. This means more time for fun and less time waiting—a win-win for any growing family!

Budget-Friendly Bliss

Planning for a family’s future often means keeping an eye on the budget.

Vinyl liner pools are known for their affordability, offering a cost-effective option for families looking to make a splash without breaking the bank.

The initial investment leaves room for other backyard enhancements or family adventures, making it a smart choice for budget-conscious households.

And with options like in-pool furniture, you can lounge in style while basking in the beauty of your upgraded gathering place. Get your pool in line with your property’s identity.

7 Expert Spring Pool Renovation Tips

A Pool Renovation Is a Backyard Renovation

Your inground pool is the centerpiece of your backyard, but it doesn’t need to stand alone. Create a harmonious outdoor retreat by integrating your pool with its surroundings.

Consider adding a sleek concrete pool deck, a cozy pergola, or an inviting outdoor kitchen. Our goal is to craft a seamless backyard gathering place that delivers relaxation and enjoyment (and maybe shows off, too, just a little).

Sustainable Solutions: Eco-Friendly Pool Renovation

Embrace sustainability with eco-friendly pool renovations that enhance your swimming experience and contribute to a healthier environment.

Consider upgrading to energy-efficient pool equipment, such as variable-speed pumps and LED lighting, reducing energy consumption and lowering operating costs. Incorporating solar heating systems can also extend your swimming season while minimizing your carbon footprint.

Safety First: Pool Renovations for Peace of Mind

Safety is paramount in any pool renovation project. Modernize your pool with the latest safety features to ensure a safe swimming experience for you and your family.

Installing anti-slip surfaces around the pool deck can prevent accidents, while pool alarms and safety covers add an extra layer of protection. Let us help you create a safe and inviting oasis for everyone to enjoy.

How Much Does a Swimming Pool Cost https://goodallpools.com/how-much-does-a-swimming-pool-cost/ Mon, 22 Jan 2024 12:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/?p=7350 How much does a swimming pool cost? At Goodall Pools & Spas, that is a question we answer every day. And the answer is, It depends.

There are a lot of factors to consider: the size and shape of the pool, the material the swimming pool is made from, the depth of the pool, and the associated equipment, such as filters, pumps, heaters, and extras, among other things.

It’s difficult to know for sure what the final cost of an inground pool construction is, but scheduling a consultation with Goodall Pools can help.

Real Swimming Pool Cost Figures

As a Pool & Spa News Top 50 Pool Builder and Top 50 Service Company, and as a company with more than fifty years in the business, we take pride in being able to provide the answers you need to start budgeting and planning your pool project.

First, you need to determine what type of pool build you want. A vinyl-liner pool, fiberglass pool, and custom beach pool all have different pricing.

A modest project for a basic inground pool, with no additional requirements, can start at around $50,000. For a custom beach pool, you can expect somewhere in the ballpark of $100,000 and up. Fiberglass pool installation can fall somewhere in between those ranges. With financing from one of our partners, you can plan the perfect pool no matter how big or small your backyard aspirations.

Need more information? To calculate your inground pool cost with more accuracy, some details will need to be explored. Let’s take a closer look.

Size and Shape: Your New Swimming Pool’s Footprint

Think of your pool as a canvas. The larger and more complex your canvas, the more paint (or in this case, materials and labor) you’ll need.

A bigger pool not only uses more resources but may also require a more intricate installation process. And if you’re dreaming of a unique shape, prepare for a price that’s just as custom.

Material Mastery: Vinyl, Fiberglass, and Concrete Swimming Pools

Another factor that will impact your swimming pool cost is the choice between fiberglass,  vinyl liner, or concrete.

Fiberglass pools, known for their durability and low maintenance, typically carry a higher initial investment compared with vinyl liner pools but are less than a custom beach pool. This is due to the pre-formed, one-piece construction of fiberglass pools, which often requires less labor for installation but higher transportation costs.

On the other hand, vinyl liner pools are generally more budget friendly upfront. They require a custom-built frame to be lined with the vinyl material, making them less expensive initially.

However, vinyl liners usually need replacement every five to ten years, which can add to long-term costs. While fiberglass pools have a higher upfront cost, their longevity and reduced maintenance requirements often make them more cost effective over time.

A custom beach pool allows you to choose any style or shape you desire. You are never limited by size or shape. With a sloped beach entry and incredible amenities, these pools have a higher price point but may be very worth it with all the features you can add.

Each option brings its own unique set of virtues and value propositions. Vinyl shines with its versatility and value-focused pricing. Fiberglass is celebrated for its low-maintenance, fuss-free nature. And a beach pool offers almost endless possibilities for design and function.

How Much Does a Swimming Pool Cost

Depth and Detail: Personalizing Your Swimming Pool

Want a wading area for the little ones? Dreaming of a diving board? Each detail, from depth changes to decorative touches, can influence your inground pool cost.

Custom features like waterfalls, infinity edges, or built-in seating can transform your pool from basic to breathtaking, but they also add to the expense.

Equipment Essentials: Filters, Heaters, and More

The heart of your pool’s functionality lies in its equipment.

Filters, pumps, heaters, and cleaning systems are the unsung heroes keeping your pool pristine. Opting for high-quality, energy-efficient equipment might cost more upfront but can save you money in the long run.

Preparing for the Unexpected

With any project as big as a new swimming pool construction, it’s important to be prepared for the unexpected. Every property and every swimming pool installation is different. Factors that are difficult to anticipate can impact the cost of a new pool project.

For example, a pool installation requires digging — often a source of variables. Rock and limestone under your backyard increase the cost and difficulty level of the project. Permitting costs are another variable: They can vary from place to place.

Fair pricing and honest estimates from Goodall Pools help you to remain aware of those factors and manage those surprise costs.

Balancing Budget and Beauty

Understanding the balance between what you desire and what works for your property, your lifestyle, and your family’s budget is key.

At Goodall Pools & Spas, we believe in transparent, honest pricing, and will work with you to find the perfect blend of beauty and budget. Our goal is to ensure your pool is not just a purchase, but an investment in lifelong memories.

Goodall Pools & Spas has been named a Top 50 Pool Builder as well as a Top 50 Service Provider by Pool & Spa News. We have been in business for over fifty years and we prioritize honest, solution-oriented service. Regardless of your budget, project size, and financing options, a new swimming pool is a major step in enjoying your home. Partner with Goodall to make sure your pool meets all of your expectations. Wrap It Up with a Winter Safety Cover for Your Inground Pool https://goodallpools.com/wrap-it-winter-safety-cover-for-inground-pool/ Mon, 09 Oct 2023 12:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/?p=6477 Ah, the sweet symphony of summer splashes has come to a close, and as the leaves turn golden, our pools prepare for a peaceful slumber. It’s time for your pool’s winter safety cover.

But hold on just a moment! Before you tuck your inground pool in for its winter nap, consider adding a layer of protection that not only ensures safety but also simplifies your spring awakening.

We’re diving deep into the realm of safety covers, the unsung heroes of the off-season pool world, and why they’re an absolute must-have in your pool arsenal.

Sentinels of Safety and Sanity

At Goodall Pools & Spas, we’ve partnered with the renowned Merlin® Industries to bring you top-tier safety covers that go beyond just shielding your pool.

Imagine a safety net, not only for your pool but for your peace of mind. These covers, available in a spectrum of colors and crafted from durable mesh and vinyl, offer a shield against the off-season elements while harmonizing with your outdoor aesthetics.

Safety Cover Essentials

Picture this: the last gleeful cannonball of summer has landed, the floats have floated away, and it’s time to lock up the pool.

This is where the safety cover takes center stage. It’s not just about keeping leaves and debris at bay – it’s about creating an impervious barrier between the outside world and your pool’s depths. We’re talking about a sturdy fortress that prevents any unintended plunges.

The Winterization Wizard

But the safety cover is not a one-hit wonder; it’s a versatile virtuoso. It plays a crucial role in the grand winterization symphony.

Think of it as a conductor that orchestrates the pool’s protection. By blocking debris and sunlight from infiltrating your pool’s serene waters, the cover ensures your pool’s components remain unscathed during the frigid months.

And come spring when the sun emerges and the pool beckons, you’ll find a clean canvas awaiting your artistic touch, thanks to the cover’s diligent work.

The Perfect Time to Wrap Up

Timing is everything, they say, and this couldn’t be truer when it comes to installing your safety cover.

Central Pennsylvania’s swim season usually bows out around late September to early October, signaling the perfect moment to drape your pool in its winter coat.

This ensures your pool is protected before the winter winds start their chilling overture. With your pool’s water and plumbing systems properly winterized, the safety cover is the final flourish that completes the ensemble.

A Simple Encore

Fittingly, the installation and removal of a safety cover play out like an encore after a captivating performance. While it may sound like a laborious task, it’s surprisingly straightforward.

As the audience, you lay the cover gracefully over the pool, secure it to the deck with purposeful straps and anchors, and then tension it to ensure a snug fit.

It’s a process that ensures the stage – your pool – remains pristine during its off-season interlude.

A winter safety cover for your inground pool is more than a cover – it’s a guardian, a conductor, and an artist that preserves your pool’s charm and allure throughout the off-season.

When you wrap your pool in the warm embrace of a safety cover, you’re ensuring a harmonious transition from one season to the next.

So, as the temperatures drop and the days shorten, let your inground pool take its bow with grace, knowing it’s cocooned in the care of a winter safety cover from Goodall Pools & Spas — we are more than just a pool company, we’re your pool’s best friend.

With over half a century of experience, we’ve mastered the art of pool care and safety. Learn more about inground pools and winter safety covers by stopping by one of our showrooms or reaching out online.

A Fiberglass vs. Vinyl vs. Beach Pool: Which One Is Right for You? https://goodallpools.com/a-fiberglass-vs-vinyl-vs-beach-pool-which-one-is-right-for-you/ Mon, 14 Aug 2023 12:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/?p=6025 Is there a better way to relax with family and friends than a swimming pool in your backyard? We at Goodall® Pools can’t think of one, but then we might be biased.

But when it comes to choosing the right type of pool for your backyard, many factors need to be taken into consideration. Are you going with a fiberglass or vinyl inground pool, or do you plan to make a big splash with a hot new beach pool? There are some obvious differences and some nuanced differences. So, we’ve compiled some helpful information to help you make the best decision. Read on to learn more about which option is going to be best for you and your family, not to mention all the brand-new friends who will come around to swim.

What Are the Benefits of a Fiberglass Pool?

Fiberglass pools offer a variety of advantages, including easy maintenance, quick installation, and long-term cost savings. Fiberglass is also highly resilient and resistant to cracking or other damage caused by harsh weather conditions.

With its sleek design and minimalist aesthetic, fiberglass can help create an attractive outdoor living space that will be the envy of your neighborhood.

Advantages of Vinyl Inground Pools

Vinyl inground pools are popular for their affordability, and for how versatile they are when it comes to size and shape – a plus if you’re designing a customized idyllic backyard with Goodall.

Vinyl is easier to install than some other types of pools built with materials such as concrete or gunite. Vinyl is also easier to maintain than concrete or gunite as well.

The Appeal Of Beach Pools

Beach pools are made of a sand-like composite material, creating a unique aesthetic and swimming experience in your backyard. Rest assured, there is no loose sand in Beach Pools to cause a mess in your home or around your yard! Beach pools add an abundance of fun and lots of luxury to any outdoor area. Beach pools are almost completely customizable in terms of size, shape, and features, including tanning ledges, cuddle coves, jets, and more. However, they typically max out at five feet deep, – great for doggie paddlers.

Factors To Consider When Choosing Your Pool Type

When deciding which type of construction material is right for you, it’s important to consider factors such as budget, maintenance requirements, and, especially,  desired aesthetic. It may also be beneficial to speak with professionals who can help guide you in choosing the best solution for your backyard paradise. That’s where Goodall (that’s us) comes in!

The Most Magnificent Way to Extend Your Swim Season https://goodallpools.com/the-most-magnificent-way-to-extend-your-swim-season/ Mon, 07 Aug 2023 12:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/?p=6080 What if you could extend your swim season deep into autumn and even start it a little earlier?

Some say the seasons are the best thing about living in the Northeast. Others say the seasons are the worst thing about living in the Northeast.

We love the seasons! But when autumn comes calling and it gets to be closing time for the swimming pool, well, we at Goodall Pools & Spas can understand both sides.

We offer two fantastic pool heating options: gas pool heaters and heat pumps. Let’s dive into the details and find the perfect solution for your pool!

Gas Pool Heaters: Quick Heating but Not Energy Efficient

Our gas pool heaters, such as the Pentair MasterTemp® and Hayward® Universal H-Series, are known for their ability to heat water quickly using gas or propane. They are perfect for those moments when you want to raise the water temperature for a specific event or during a few weeks in spring and fall.

However, gas pool heaters are not the most energy-efficient way to extend your swim season, leading many customers to turn them off when not in use due to higher operating costs.

Heat Pumps: The Energy-Efficient Choice to Extend Your Swim Season

Heat pumps, like the Pentair UltraTemp® and Hayward® HeatPro®, use electricity to operate, making them a more economical choice to extend your swim season.

Though they may have a slightly higher upfront cost, they offer significant energy savings and efficiency. Some electric companies and manufacturers even provide rebates for choosing heat pumps over traditional heaters.

The only downside to heat pumps is that they take longer to heat the water, gradually raising the temperature over a few days. However, once the desired temperature is reached, the heat pump helps maintain it throughout the summer, similar to how a home heat pump operates.

Personal Preference and Available Resources

Choosing between heat pumps and heaters to extend your swim season depends on your personal preferences and available resources. If you only want to heat your water during a couple of key points during the year, like for a party, or a weekend in early spring, and you have access to gas or propane, gas pool heaters may suit your needs.

On the other hand, if you value long-term energy efficiency and cost savings, heat pumps are the way to go. They provide gradual heating, resulting in a more environmentally friendly approach while maintaining your pool temperature throughout the season.

At Goodall Pools & Spas, we take pride in offering a wide range of pool heating options to cater to your needs. Whether you prefer the quick heating of gas pool heaters or the energy-efficient performance of heat pumps, rest assured that your swimming experience will always be enjoyable.

The Ultimate Swim Season Experience

Imagine the delight of lounging in your pool, sipping on a refreshing drink, as the autumn leaves gently fall around you. Thanks to the incredible pool heating options offered by Goodall Pools & Spas, you can extend your swim season and make this daydream your reality

With gas pool heaters and heat pumps at your disposal, you have the power to transform your swim season into an unforgettable experience. Embrace the changing seasons and extend your swim season with a warm, inviting pool that beckons you to dive in no matter the weather.

Extend your poolside gatherings, host unforgettable pool parties, and create cherished memories with your loved ones, all year round. The magic of an extended swim season awaits you, and with our expert guidance, you’ll find the perfect heating solution to suit your needs.

So, dive into the joy of an endless swim season, courtesy of Goodall Pools & Spas — your partner in making every moment in the pool count! We have been in business for over 60 years and are proud to offer five store locations in Pennsylvania. Our team of experienced professionals is committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products and services available on the market today.

What Are the Different Kinds of Pool Covers to Choose From? https://goodallpools.com/what-are-the-different-kinds-of-pool-covers-to-choose-from/ Mon, 17 Jul 2023 12:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/?p=5716 Owning a swimming pool brings an ode of joy to your backyard, so of course you want to protect it. One of the easiest and most effective ways to do this is by using a pool cover. Pool covers not only keep your pool clean, but they also help to maintain the temperature and reduce evaporation. However, with so many different kinds of covers available, it can be difficult to know which one to choose. At Goodall, we want to customize your pool ownership experience and cater to what works best for you and your family. Let’s talk about the different kinds of pool covers available and the amazing benefits they offer. We’ll sort them by winter covers and in-season covers.

Winter Covers

Keep Wear and Tear at Bay with a Winter Pool Cover

As the name suggests, winter pool covers are designed for use during the winter months when your pool is not in use. These covers are made from heavy-duty material, such as polyethylene or PVC, and are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. They are also designed to prevent leaves, dirt, and debris from entering the pool, keeping it clean and well-maintained.

Safety Is Always First with Safety Pool Covers

Safety pool covers are designed to prevent accidents from occurring. These winter covers are made from heavy-duty materials and are designed to be strong enough to support the weight of a person or pet and come in a variety of options like solid vinyl or mesh.

Mesh safety covers are designed to keep debris and most sunlight out of your pool while allowing water to pass through. These options are made from a woven material that allows rainwater and snow to pass through while keeping leaves, dirt, and debris out of your swimming area.

In-Season Covers

Solar Covers: An Energy-Efficient Way to Warm Your Pool

A solar pool cover is designed to heat your pool using the power of the sun. These covers are made from a thin layer of plastic or vinyl and are designed to float on top of the water. They work by trapping the sun’s heat and transferring it to the water, which helps to increase the water temperature. Solar covers are an excellent choice for those who want to extend their swimming season and save money on heating costs.

Automatic Pool Covers: Easy and Effective

Automatic covers are designed to make covering and uncovering your pool easy. These covers are made from a durable material, such as vinyl, and are designed to be motorized. They are operated using a remote control and can be opened or closed with the touch of a button. You can open or close your pool with the touch of a button. There are many different kinds of pool covers available. And, each works to make your pool ownership experience easier than ever.

If you’re ready to start planning your pool build, Goodall Pools & Spas is ready to make your backyard dream come true. Contact us today to get started!

What Is a Beach Pool? https://goodallpools.com/what-is-a-beach-pool/ Mon, 10 Jul 2023 12:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/?p=6038 Goodall Pools and Spas offers a lot of exciting elements that will bump up the bliss in your backyard abode. But to us, one of the most thrilling is the beach pool by Biodesign® USA.

The Beach or the Backyard?

The beauty, mystery, and grandeur of the beach, or the privacy, intimacy, and versatility of your own backyard? It’s a decision made dozens of times each summer by people around the country. What if you didn’t have to choose?

But, What Is a Beach Pool?

A beach pool is a pool designed and constructed to look and feel like a beach, but in your backyard. These unique pools are also known as “sculpted pools,” or “Biodesign Beach Pools” and are the patented creations of Biodesign USA

A beach pool is expertly designed to feel like a part of your backyard landscaping, but with a gentler impact on the environment than a conventional pool will have. The surface of a beach pool is made from a sand-like composite layer instead of the usual pool materials like vinyl, fiberglass, concrete, and gunite. Beach pools are endlessly customizable, and the best of your backyard can be integrated into their design: decks, patios, gardens, outdoor kitchens, a tiki bar, a swim-up bar – the only real limit is your own inimitable taste and imagination.

How Do We Get a Beach into Your Backyard?

Simple: We shake out your kids’ shoes and pockets after all the messy beach trips you won’t need anymore if you get a custom beach pool from Goodall Pools and Spas

Or, since some folks feel that takes too long: Once your beach pool is designed, we excavate the appropriate space in your backyard and carve out the shape of the pool and any features you may want, like a cuddle cove or tanning ledge. The pool structure is then lined with a rubber membrane. Then we do the plumbing and the stone finishing. Next is a deep dive, pun very much intended, into all your ingredients and integrations, customizing the beach pool until you are thrilled: jets, music, lighting, a barista – anything you can dream of for your beach pool. The sand-like composite material goes over and around your custom elements for a finish you will be sharing on social media before the water is even dry (@ us, please).

Is There Anything Else Awesome About Beach Pools?

There sure is. We can’t emphasize enough how fully customizable beach pools are. What’s a beach without beach sounds? We’re ready to rig running water in the form of fountains and falls to make it sound as much like a natural body of water as it looks. Many beach pools are built with beach-style entries – a gradual slope from your sandy simulated seashore. This is great with younger kids around, as is a beach pool’s relatively shallow depth: Beach pools max out at about five or six feet deep. And beach pools allow you to trick out your out-of-water experience with lounges, a beach entry, tanning ledges (use protection), and anything else to make it feel more like the beach: food trucks, seabird calls, distant sails bobbing gently on the horizon (while supplies last).

That Sounds Great… But It’s Not Really the Beach

True. There are some key beach characteristics that we have not yet figured out how to approximate. Like paying fifteen dollars to park and then walking eight minutes to the beach; having to move every couple of hours because the tide is coming in; wading for twenty minutes to get wet because the tide is going out; long treks to sanitary facilities that are inevitably occupied when you get to them; windy days that sandblast you until you’re smoother than onyx; teeming crowds; unleashed dogs shaking seawater all over you and your beach blanket. But if you feel like you can live without these things, reach out now and begin your journey to a Goodall Pools and Spas beach pool.

What to Look for in a Luxury Swimming Pool Builder https://goodallpools.com/what-to-look-for-in-a-luxury-swimming-pool-builder/ Mon, 26 Jun 2023 12:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/?p=5712 What is the first step on the journey of owning the luxury swimming pool of your dreams? Finding a luxury swimming pool builder. But with so many swimming pool builders to choose from, it can be challenging to know what to look for.

Recognizing a Luxury Swimming Pool Builder

At Goodall Pools & Spas, we’ve spent more than 60 years mastering the art and science of pool building. From design to project management to your ongoing enjoyment of your backyard oasis, we know what is expected of us to deliver the gold standard in pools.

Here, we will explore some of the key factors that we prioritize as a Top 50 Pool Builder. Keep these in mind when researching a luxury swimming pool builder, and you will fast-track yourself to success.

Experience and Reputation

A reputable builder should have a track record of successful projects and be knowledgeable in all aspects of pool construction. Does that mean every pool builder needs to be in the business for 60 years to be reputable? No. It does mean, however, that they can reference successful projects, satisfied customers, and, eventually, credits and/or awards within the industry.

Therefore, hunt for testimonials and reviews. Keep an eye out for mentions of the pool builder in trade periodicals and websites. And ask to see examples of past projects. Remember that not all clients want the same thing. So as you browse past projects, ask questions about how the design coincided with the owner’s goals. If the pool builder can speak eloquently about the design elements and how well it met the customer’s needs, that’s a sign of a quality pool builder.

Customer Service

Good customer service is essential when choosing any pool builder. Staff should be easy to communicate with and be responsive to your needs and concerns throughout the project. They should also be willing to provide you with regular updates on the progress of the project and be available to answer any questions you may have.

Customization

Customization is a quintessential characteristic of a luxury swimming pool. Therefore, a luxury swimming pool builder should be able to create a design that meets your specific needs. Here are some elements to keep in mind when considering customization:

Pool Type. Goodall designs pool environments consisting of vinyl-liner pools, fiberglass pools, and Biodesign Beach Pools. Vinyl-liner pools and Biodesign Beach Pools offer the most customizability in terms of size, shape, and additional features. Fiberglass pools consist of a pre-fabricated pool shell and are, thus, fixed in size and shape. However, the pool surround is customizable.

Design Scope. No matter how much of the pool environment will be built from scratch, a luxury swimming pool builder should be able to offer a wide range of design options, from traditional to modern.

Special Features. They should also be able to suggest features that can enhance the performance and enjoyment of your pool, such as heating systems, automation, and filtration systems. They should also be able to suggest design features that can elevate the look and feel of the pool such as cascades, deck jets, or LED lighting.

Financing Options

Building a luxury pool is a significant investment. As such, it’s essential to consider your financing options. A reputable luxury swimming pool builder should be able to offer financing options that suit your budget and needs. They should be able to work with you to determine the best financing option, such as a home equity loan or pool loan.

7 Things You Can Do with Your Swimming Pool Surround That Look Like You Spent a Million Bucks https://goodallpools.com/7-things-you-can-do-with-your-swimming-pool-surround/ Mon, 19 Jun 2023 12:00:00 +0000 https://goodallpools.com/?p=5709 A swimming pool is a luxurious addition to any home. But the pool itself is only part of the picture. The pool surround, meaning the hardscape area surrounding the pool, is just as important and can make a huge difference in the overall look and feel of your backyard.

Ideas for Your Pool Surround

With a little creativity, you can transform your pool surround into a stunning outdoor retreat that looks like you spent a million bucks. Here are some ideas to get you started:

1. Incorporate a natural stone look.

Natural stone is a timeless and elegant choice for pool surrounds. It can create a cohesive look that blends seamlessly with the rest of your backyard. But what if actual limestone, travertine, and/or sandstone aren’t as accessible as you hoped? Fear not. Concrete is so much more than it used to be.

There are so many concrete applications nowadays that resemble the best of nature’s rocky treasures. With customizable colors, textures, and patterns at your disposal, you can achieve a look that looks like a luxurious Roman villa for a Central Pennsylvania price.

2. Add water features to the pool surround.

Yes, you can add a water feature or two to your pool surround. Deck jets are a popular choice when owners want to add a little more aquatic pizzazz to their design. These small but mighty features send a thin arc of water from the pool deck to the water, adding a dimension and sonic character to the overall environment.

3. Install outdoor lighting.

Outdoor lighting can completely transform the look of your entire pool environment – especially the surround. With a few well-placed LED components adding subtle illumination to the hardscape, you’ll enhance both the ambiance and safety of the pathway.

4. Tend to the greenery.

You’ve heard us say time and again that it’s not just about the pool. That means your entire backyard shares the spotlight with your pool. That being said, remember to tend to the greenery around your pool. When the grass and plant life look lush and manicured, your pool surround will appear grander and more luxurious.

5. Install a fire pit.

If your pool surround includes ample patio space, consider installing a fire pit. You can opt for a traditional wood-burning fire pit or choose a gas-powered option for convenience. Be sure to choose a location that is a safe distance from the pool and any flammable materials. The result is an inviting space for warm, cozy nighttime gatherings.

6. Create a seating area.

A seating area is a versatile addition to your pool surround. It provides a place to relax and soak up the sun or read a book in the shade. Depending on your preferences, you can opt for a traditional patio set or go for a more unconventional option such as a hanging chair or hammock. Be sure to choose furniture that is durable and weather-resistant like the Ledge Lounger pool furniture we carry at Goodall.

7. Add a pergola.

A pergola can add height and geometric interest to your pool surround, creating a focal point for the space. It can also provide shade and privacy if you choose to grow climbing plants such as vines or bougainvillea. At Goodall, we carry Toja Grid DIY pergola kits. These are sturdy, stylish, and easy to assemble so you can make the most of your outdoor space.
